BA Philosophy and History and Philosophy of Science

Course Description

Leeds has one of the largest and most dynamic philosophy Schools in the country, noted for its open and friendly approach to students and with an excellent reputation in teaching and research. We have forty permanent and associate staff who are active in all the main areas of the subject, with an international standing in research across many areas, ranging from metaphysics and philosophy of religion to aesthetics and ethics. The exceptional breadth of staff expertise allows us to offer courses in all the traditional areas of philosophy and for those courses to be pursued in depth. The School incorporates the Centre for History and Philosophy of Science, which offers its own courses and degree programme, along with the Centre for Metaphysics and Mind, the Centre for Ethics and Metaethics, and the Centre for Aesthetics.
