If you wish to apply for a UK degree but need to develop your Academic English and subject knowledge first, then the International Foundation Programme (IFP) is an ideal one-year programme for you. If you are accepted onto the IFP, complete the programme successfully and meet the follow-on degree programme's entry criteria, you are guaranteed a place at undergraduate level study at the University of Hertfordshire. As a student on IFP you are taught by specialist subject lecturers and expert teachers of English. All our IFP lecturers have considerable experience of working with overseas students. On the Business, Computer Science and Law Subject Focus route we enhance your existing academic English and improve your study skills. We develop your knowledge of the core subjects which you need to progress on to your chosen degree. If you wish to progress on to a Business degree the core modules are Business related. No specific subject knowledge is required for entry to Computer Science or Law, therefore the most accessible route in to these subjects is through the Business modules. Once you are accepted on to the International Foundation Programme, you are guaranteed a place on your chosen degree programme provided you achieve the specific progression requirements of that degree programme. Your future options will depend on the subject of your degree study.
