You'll explore the potential of moving images using both film and digital video. It will encourage you to be original and highly creative enabling you to explore your personal agenda, use your imagination, be experimental, take risks, think and act professionally, and encourages your desire to communicate with an audience. We'll encourage you to anticipate and adapt to change, analyse, evaluate and reflect on information and experiences, and make independent judgments. You'll explore the exciting and challenging areas of film and video practice, and be able to fully engage with new digital technologies. You will build up the knowledge and practical skills that are essential in a wide variety of careers, from moving image artists to documentary and narrative filmmakers. And we'll encourage you to develop a sound theoretical perspective on both your own work and the work of other mainstream, independent and avant-garde filmmakers.

You can also gain vital hands on experience by taking an optional industrial placement for one year between stages two and three. During your placement you'll gain an additional qualification, the Diploma in Professional Practice, which consists of two modules - Contemporary Issues in Professional Practice and Applied Professional Practice.
