The course introduces students to a broad range of issues, provides them with opportunities to conduct a substantial piece of research, and allows them to obtain more intensive training in either social or developmental psychology; all students take formal courses on: contemporary issues in social and developmental psychology, research methods, techniques, and issues, and basic statistical techniques; alongside these course-based activities, students begin working on research projects; students also take a course in psychometrics, obtain more advanced and specialised research methods training, attend more specialised lecture modules, and continue with their independent research projects.
