Graduate Diploma in Economics

Course Description

The Graduate Diploma is a conversion course designed for students who wish to move into Economics (or Finance) and who have both a good degree in another subject and appropriate mathematical skills. This program would be ideal for someone who wanted to do a MSc in Economics and needed some undergraduate-level study as preparation (many of our students have gone on to do Masters degrees or PhDs at Bristol or elsewhere), but can also be used as a stand-alone qualification for those who want an introduction to quantitative economics. The program is a "crash course": students take second-year core undergraduate units (and one third-year optional unit) and are expected to have done some preparation of first-year level material in their own time before arriving at Bristol. The units listed below are for 2014-15: in academic year 2015-16 the list will change slightly due to revisions to Bristol's undergraduate programs."
