Double major offered jointly by the School of Dramatic Art and the Department of Communication, Media and Film Provides knowledge of and practice in many facets of theatre production Includes courses in costume, set and lighting design; video, film and theatre production; directing; stage management and theoretical and critical courses on the communication/telecommunication industries, media content and television and film production First-year dramatic art courses focus on theatre history, the nature of theatre, and rendering for the theatre First-year Communication, Media and Film courses concentrate on the history, development and impact of information technologies, an introduction to communication theory, and the role of communication in society. Courses also offered in production processes Includes opportunities in more specialized areas in theatre production, performance, media studies and video and film production after first year Includes internships and Work Study opportunities at University Players for advanced students
