Course Description

The Master of Science in Finance (MSF) Program is a rigorous 10-month degree program offering a number of unique features and benefits: Designed especially for non-finance undergraduates: The program is designed for students who have a quantitative undergraduate degree in areas such as economics or STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Emphasis on practical career preparation: The program provides specialized preparation for careers in corporate finance, capital markets/consulting and investment management. Students have hands-on experience applying various financial modeling and valuation concepts, tools and techniques in classes taught by a combination of seasoned world class executive professors and noted academic professors. STEM-to-Stocks Accelerated Admissions: The Accelerated Admissions is for non-finance Texas A&M students in their Sophomore or Junior year that are interested in working in a finance-related position. The benefits to getting a head start are invaluable as students will have increased opportunities for networking and internships within the Mays Business School. Additionally, students will pay the discounted undergraduate rate for up to 15 credit hours of graduate level courses.

Career outcomes

Gaining industry involvement: Our career services adviser invites top employers in the finance industry to participate in a range of MSF activities, including mock interviews and job recruitment events. Focusing on a career management plan: Students work with the CMC staff to prepare an individual career management plan that combines individualized career goals with personal knowledge, skills and experience. Our career adviser also works closely with students as they seek employment in the finance industry. Training on career management skills: The CMC staff offer a number of services that help graduate students develop career management skills. These services include assistance with resumes, online career resources, development of networking strategies and skills, mock interviews, negotiation coaching and career management workshops.
