The course objectives are to offer you an initial experience and training in the development of patterns and the realisation of garments. A fundamental role is played by those who specialise in the Technology of Fashion, one of the most sought after and highly acclaimed profiles in the Fashion Industry. The course is designed for all those who want to expand their knowledge on making patterns and prototypes. This is a preparatory programme if you want to start a career as a student or as a professional of the sartorial heritage of Made in Italy. This four-week programme covers the basic crafts and skills fundamental to the creation of Fashion Garments and the production of collections from Pattern Cutting to Draping and addresses integral subjects such as Computer Aided Design, Sewing, Pattern Design, Prototyping, Collection Management and Production Development. You will be introduced to and become familiar with how the whole cycle of producing collections is constructed, from translating Design Boards and interpreting the original sketch of a designer to composing line sheets and technical flats. From creating basic patterns, sew swatches and mock-ups to the production of prototypes. From assisting at fitting meetings, approving finishes, to conducting spec-sheets and finally launching production. The course is a multi-step practical guide on how a Fashion Collection is created, developed and produced.
