The aim of the qualification is to provide a sound knowledge and skills base which will allow progression to further learning or qualifications, or into employment opportunities. A practical introduction to some of the Land-based skills required in the many sectors of the industry. Candidates progress at a pace suited to them and are assessed in individual skill areas as they become competent and confident to do so.

Successful learners could progress to a Level 2 Diploma in a land based subject e.g. Horticulture or Animal Care etc.
