This course is designed to provide you with a greater appreciation of Shakespeare’s work and the culture in which he was immersed whilst living in London. You will be studying a number of his plays, whilst also spending time off campus- which of course includes a trip to the Globe Theatre- to learn about the social and historical context in which the plays were written and perceived. You will also delve into contemporary manifestations of his work in order to understand the pull that Shakespeare has over 21st century London and how they will develop and survive in the future. For budding writers, Shakespeare fans and to those studying English at university, we would be pleased to welcome you onto out Shakespeare in London module this summer.
