The aim of this course is to provide students with knowledge and skills to be able to, in terms of engineering materials and metals, identify types and performance characteristics, and describe their selection and use. Students will learn to demonstrate knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and their composition, and techniques for determining the composition of engineering metals. This course includes NZQA unit standards 2383, 20799 and 20917.
