Media is a primary means by which we know ourselves and society. From television to popular music, the internet and mobile technologies, media is increasingly intertwined in our lives. Media Studies at Victoria prepares students with the tools they need to navigate an ever-changing world. Media Studies is distinctive in drawing from both the Humanities and the Social Sciences and, like others in the Faculty, all of our courses develop skills in written and spoken communication, independent research and the critical analysis of texts, practices and cultures which have a clear relevance for a variety of career paths. Our graduates have gone on to careers in media production and analysis, public service and non-governmental organisations, teaching and research.
