Course Description

At undergraduate level, topics in Marine Science are offered through a BSc in Ecology with a minor in Marine Science, a BSc in Oceanography and a BAppSc in Aquaculture and Fisheries. Minors in all three areas are available for a number of bachelors’ degrees. All Marine Science postgraduate programmes are open to students from a wide range of science backgrounds, including Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Geology. Some training in Mathematics and Statistics is required. The normal minimum prerequisite for the Master of Science and Postgraduate Diploma courses is a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree or equivalent. Both Master of Science (MSc) and Postgraduate Diploma programmes take a multidisciplinary approach to the study of Marine Science.
