Māori Health will assist with ensuring New Zealand’s health and disability workforce are sufficiently equipped to effectively meet the health and healthcare needs of Māori. Māori Health recognises the value of integrated approaches to health for Māori health, and learning is focussed on the integration of healthcare and intersectoral approaches in Māori heath. Graduates may take up roles within the public health, health care, disability, and social service sectors with the knowledge and skills of increased cultural competence to work effectively in these sectors. Māori Health is available as a major subject for the Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHealSc) and as an endorsement for the Postgraduate Certificate in Public Health (PGCertPH).
