Bachelor of Paramedicine

Course Description

You will be prepared to work as a paramedic in a range of traditional and non-traditional settings. You will gain clinical decision-making, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and will learn about human body systems, paramedic practice, emergency treatment of disease and response to trauma. You will also develop strong practical skills through clinical simulation delivered through Griffith's extensive range of simulation facilities and will complete a minimum of 400 hours of applied clinical placements and professional practice.

Career outcomes

Graduates of this degree will be able to apply for employment as a graduate level paramedic within Australia and a number of other countries subject to the program being accredited by the Council of Ambulance Authorities (CAA). Demand for paramedics in South-East Queensland and Northern NSW currently exceeds supply and is expected to do so in the foreseeable future. Other career areas could also include the military, mining, on off-shore oil rigs, and other commercial paramedic opportunities.
