The course addresses the logistics challenges faced by today’s international organisations. The course focusses on bridging the gap between theoretical logistics concepts and how to practically apply them in real world situations. This will provide students with the opportunity to engage with technical and intellectual challenges that will enhance their ability to evaluate and manage a logistics business from a global context. This provides students with a degree that gives them logistic analytical, strategic and operational skills necessary to gain employment with a global manufacturer, retailer or logistics service provider at a mid-management level upwards. The key differentiating feature of this course, are the inclusion of modules delivered from a practical perspective. This provides a balance between logistics theories such as applying simulation tools or analysing existing logistics operations and general management topics. This enables students to become effective and successful senior managers in either the logistics provider side of the industry or the manufacturer / retailer perspective. The course is currently being accredited by the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport, and will be fully accredited before the launch date of September 2017

Successful completion of this course leads to senior management careers in the shipping, freight haulage, road transport or retail distribution industries at both technical and managerial levels. Some of the job in roles such as: Logistics Business Development, Logistics and / or Supply Chain Analyst; Logistics Management Consultant and Logistics Project Manager. These roles can be found in many logistics service providers, which is an ideal starting point for a career in logistics. Alternatively, similar roles with manufacturers, shippers and retailers are available and provide the experience of being on the other side of the logistics fence.
