Course Description

Work with a research group that’s shaping the world with innovative technologies and applications, often in collaboration with industry. We can supervise your dissertation in many different fields. Our Computer Scientists are pursuing exciting research in fields ranging from industrial control to satellite imaging, serious gaming to online virtual learning environments. Broadly speaking our specialisms are image manipulation, video systems, animation, virtual worlds, gaming, 2D and 3D modelling, cloud computing, AI, audio applications, satellite technology, internet technologies and mobile media technology. As a postgraduate researcher you’ll have access to wide-ranging expertise, as well as first-rate computing facilities, at our campus in Cambridge, one of the UK’s premier science and technology cities. A significant number of our students choose to pursue their programme part-time, integrating their research degrees with their professional lives. We’ve excellent online resources to support this. Equally, if you wish to join us full-time, you’ll be part of a group that collaborates with industry on theoretical and applied research, as well as consultancy projects.
