There exists a large body of scientific literature concerned with the fundamental aspects of our higher mental processes eg. perception, memory, language, reasoning, problem-solving. On this programme you will study how our understanding, derived from this literature, can be applied to a wide range of practical real-world problems. Drawing on the diverse research interests and expertise of our staff, you will be supported in developing your own ideas concerning how best to apply principles derived from cognitive psychology to real-world problems, problems that are of interest to you, and problems that are relevant to your career aspirations. This programme is suitable for students who wish to use it as a stepping stone to a PhD, a professional doctorate or employment in related fields eg in public sector organisations, businesses, private consultancies.

Outside of your programme, there are further opportunities for volunteering. Our Careers Service can help you find a part -time job on or off campus, and they also offer skills development workshops. As you near graduation, they are on hand to help with your CV, job applications and interview techniques.
