Course Description

# Florists are skilled designers whose work enhances all of the emotional times in peoples’ lives. Florists also know the way that plants grow which means they can take care of flowers for use in arrangements, bouquets and wreaths. This course comprises three areas of study. The main area is in practical and theoretical aspects of floral design. The second is business management, providing the skills necessary to run a business. The third is plant material and management. The course offers students the chance to take part in advanced skills training and make use of the specialist design facilities available on campus. In the latter stages of the course student will undertake a significant research project or dissertation which explores aspects of the floristry industry

Career outcomes

# # Students who successfully complete the degree will look to obtain positions as senior floral designers, managers, and creative directors. A floral design career will enable students to specialise as a wedding or corporate event designer, teacher or demonstrator of the craft.
