Level 4 Diploma in Fashion Retail

Course Description

This exciting Diploma programme provides you with essential preparation for entry to degree courses in fashion and also to employment in the fashion retail sector. The content of the UAL level 4 Diploma in Fashion Retail was developed by the University of the Arts London and specifically the London College of Fashion in collaboration with the Fashion Retail Academy to train young people to progress into careers in the fashion retail sector. The Fashion Retail Academy is sponsored by the Arcadia Group (Topshop, Topman, Burton, Miss Selfridge), Marks & Spencer and Next. The qualification provides skills in preparation for work in the retail sector and balances practical creative skills with theoretical studies. Industry-led projects and work placements are key elements of this qualification to help widen student's experience of working in the retail industry. A team of fashion designers and teachers with experience in industry will support your studies. You will have a dedicated studio space, access to IT labs and library. Our central W1 London location will give you easy access to the fashion retail industry, museums, art galleries and fashion houses from which to draw your inspiration. The culmination of the course is an Exhibition where you will be able to show your final project.

Career outcomes

The qualification will support students to develop a portfolio of work enabling them to progress in to Higher Education courses including BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing and Business Management, BA (Hons) Fashion Management and BA (Hons) Fashion Retail Management. Students completing Level 4 Diploma in Fashion Retail may also find career entry roles in such areas as customer service, instore visual display, styling, window installation display and fashion retail store concept development.
