The Bachelor of Addiction Studies offers current best practice research and courses in areas such as Criminal Justice and Abuse. The programme aims to provide graduates with evidence based practice skills that will enable them to work in partnership with a wide range of other professionals and in a variety of social settings. As beginning addiction practitioners students will be required to develop their professional practice, understand and work within their limitations and continue to build on their professional competence throughout their working lives. The Degree programme aims to provide graduates with the practitioner competencies and values of the Addiction Practitioners’ Association, Aotearoa-New Zealand (Dapaanz).

Career options Opportunities exist in addiction, alcohol, and drug services. District Health Boards, public health, non-government organisations. Social, health and community agencies.
