The History department offers undergraduate course work at two levels: 100/200 (introductory) and 300/400 (advanced, open to both third and fourth year students). Courses numbered in the 300s and the 400s may be taken for either third or fourth year credit. Students are strongly advised to complete 100/200-level courses before undertaking advanced courses in the same area. Students may not enrol in 100/200-level courses after completing an advanced course in the same area. Students may not enrol concurrently in 100/200 and 300/400-level courses in the same area without written permission of the instructor in the advanced course. All History courses require substantial written and reading assignments.
