Course Description

Animal Welfare (formerly: Laboratory Animal Science) is one of the 3 post-graduate Master’s programmes offered by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Utrecht University. It is the only veterinary Faculty in the Netherlands and holds a leading position internationally in both education and research. Extensive knowledge Students will acquire extensive knowledge in all aspects of the ethical use of different species of animals, as well as skills in conducting independent scientific research using protocols, and principles. The programme prepares students for further PhD research, if desired. The results of the research project will be written up as a manuscript for publication in an international double-refereed journal, and may serve as the start of a PhD thesis.
