This course provides you with a comprehensive and current education in the business of events and events in business. Building on our established teaching and research expertise in tourism and events studies/management, and links with event organisations and venues in South West England, it equips you with essential knowledge and skills for a successful career in this dynamic industry. On completion, you"ll have acquired an understanding of the main disciplines and operational areas of business alongside your subject specialism (events). Also, we offer a curriculum that aims to challenge your ways of thinking, learning and behaving, with issues of ethics and ethical decision-making, sustainability and global citizenship embedded throughout.

We focus on employability from the very first term with a module that requires you to start thinking about your future aspirations and what it means to be a professional in your specialist field (events). Many of our graduates will go on to secure roles such as event organisers, conference centre managers, marketing executives and tourism officers with opportunities to specialise in meetings and exhibitions, or sporting and cultural events. Alternatively, the course is an ideal 'launch pad" for a career in any area of business, enterprise and management, and in any sector of the economy.
