Course Description

This joint honours BA in Education and Welsh History will expose you to the fascinating and tumultuous history of Wales over the past millennium, whilst equipping you with the knowledge and vocational skills required to teach. This course is perfect for aspiring teachers, tutors and lecturers with an interest in history and Welsh history in particular. You can tailor your learning to suit your own interests, opting for modules from both subject areas. Your choices will include Conquest, Union and Identity in Wales; Wales under the Tudors; Bilingual Education; Children's Rights; Working with Play, and many more. This course is delivered by the School of Education and Lifelong Learning, which recently relocated to new premises on the main campus at the University, in conjunction with the Department of History and Welsh History. You will benefit from the latest learning and teaching environments, the expertise of our experienced staff members, and the partnerships the School of Education maintains with communities, schools and authorities across Wales and the UK. This joint honours degree in Education and Welsh History will be of great use to you in a range of graduate jobs, particularly in schools and colleges.
