There is also an opportunity to study and practice abroad in a number of countries in your second year. This will enable you to gain an understanding of different health care systems. Students on our adult nursing degree could spend 15 weeks studying in Finland, Portugal, Cyprus or Germany. There are opportunities within the BN /BM programmes to undertake elective placements in the UK or abroad. The cost of travel and accommodation for these will be borne by the student. Depending on experience and training, graduates of the adult nursing degree can reach the highest levels of the NHS. Once qualified, many nurses take extra courses to specialise in areas such as cancer care, women’s health, accident and emergency, critical care, practice nursing, health visiting or school nursing. You can also work abroad. Registered Nurses from the UK are highly regarded throughout the world.
