Course Details

BA (Hons) Art Practice

Course Description

You will be encouraged to think and work across different disciplines, experiencing and understanding the possibilities and benefits of working this way. Art practice begins with a range of projects that involve ceramics, painting, printmaking, drawing, life drawing, 3D mixed media, digital image making, and cross-disciplinary processes. Your personal practice will be informed by studying historical and contemporary practices and discourses. In year two, you choose a pathway in art practice based on either 2D or 3D study. You will also have the opportunity to engage with a live project to gain direct professional experience of project management, collaborative working, presentation, marketing and documentation. In the final year, you are expected to direct the content, pace and ambition of your art practice and theory. There is an emphasis on independence and self-awareness, which leads to a substantial public exhibition of your work.
