As a linguistics student, you will gain fascinating insights into the design and organisation of language while learning about the many different sounds, words and clause structures found in the world’s languages. You will also explore how language is used in different societies and cultures – what counts as appropriate linguistic behaviour and why people change the way they speak in different situations.
