Bachelor of Laws (Hons) Law

Course Description

The Ulster Law School has an excellent reputation for teaching, research, student support and student development. As well as teaching core competence in legal knowledge, it seeks to develop skills, build confidence and equip students to flourish in suitable employment. It provides a broad-based legal education, situating law in its social context, and an intellectually stimulating learning environment with many specialist optional modules. It also provides a broad range of extra-curricular opportunities, for example study abroad/student exchange, student internships in legal practice, student mentoring from practicing legal professionals. School staff members have received many teaching awards at local and national level, and overall satisfaction as measured in the National Student Survey has been consistently over 90%. In the most recent national research quality exercise, REF 2014, Ulster Law was placed overall 4th in the UK, an illustration of Ulster’s place in the front rank of UK Law Schools. Because of Ulster’s commitment to course accessibility, fees are maintained at a much lower level than for comparable courses elsewhere in the UK.
