Career outcomes

Dance performance We have had two graduates accepted into Transitions Dance Company (Laban, London) and both are now working full time as dance performers. We also have graduates performing in Ireland, the USA, the UK and Germany. Our graduates are working with Maiden Voyage, Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company and Pony Dance here in Northern Ireland as well as with Bone Idle Circus Company specialising in Aerial Dance. ChoreographyAlthough this is a very difficult career in which to make a living we have had one graduate accepted onto the Choreographic mentoring programme of Daghda Dance Company while another won a very large award to work with a Norwegian writer and Finnish composer. Some of our graduates are also choreographing as part of their apprenticeships to professional companies such as Echo Echo and Assault Events. EducationWe have graduates working full-time as Dance animateurs (organising and teaching dance classes and workshops and choreographing in the community), teaching in Higher Education, Further Education and in State and private schools. Further Study Our graduates have gone on to further study on PGCE programmes in England and to take Masters/PhD programmes in the UK. Free-lance and independent work Graduates have also made successful applications for large Entrepreneurship grants and SIAP awards from the Arts Council. Some graduates have formed their own companies, are running their own dance schools and have undertaken large international choreographic projects.
