About Us

The University of St Andrews is the third oldest university in the English-speaking world and celebrates its 600th anniversary next year. It is relatively small (c. 8000 students) but has a cosmopolitan atmosphere - one third of its students are from overseas. It has an international reputation for delivering high quality teaching and research, and is consistently ranked amongst the top 100 universities in the world, and amongst the top five universities in the UK. It has research strengths across the entire spectrum of science disciplines ranging from nanotechnology and bio-molecular medicine to astrophysics and the study of large sea mammals.
