Course Description

The Department of Anatomy & Cell Biology programs provide education in four sub-disciplines of the anatomical sciences (cell biology, developmental biology, gross anatomy, and neurobiology) and include prerequisite courses for professional schools and graduate studies in many areas of the health and life sciences. Graduates have career opportunities in biomedical and biotechnology research. Students in Anatomy & Cell Biology explore the structure, function and development of the human body at the cell, tissue and organ levels. In addition to disciplinary courses in cellular biology and human anatomy, our Anatomy & Cell Biology B.Sc. degree programs incorporate foundational courses in organic chemistry, molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, physiology, and laboratory methods. Students in Anatomy & Cell Biology have opportunites to acquire hands-on experience in scientific discovery through participation in departmental research in areas of cell and molecular biology, neurobiology, developmental biology and biomedical imaging.
