Algebra and Analysis PhD

Course Description

Duration : Various There are strong research maths groups in algebra, arithmetic and algebraic geometry, group theory and complex and functional analysis. A brief overview of certain specific research interests includes: * analysis of magnetic materials * analytic K-theory (including tensor products) * algebraic cobordism * algebraic K-theory * banach algebras * c*-algebras and their classification * calculus of variations, PDEs and networks * cohomology * collective behaviour of vortex lattices in superconductors * combinatorial and geometric group theory (including growth and finiteness of groups) * data clustering * document linking * elliptic curves * forward-backward diffusion equations * geometric data analysis * image processing * Iwasawa theory * meromorphic function theory (particularly value distribution theory) * modular and automorphic forms * nonassociative algebras * quadratic forms and forms of higher degree * quadratic and Hermitian lattices * vortex dynamics
