The Actuarial Mathematics program is designed to provide broad training in the basic mathematics underlying the operations of private and social insurance and employee benefit plans. The courses are organized to assist the student to prepare for several of the examinations of the Casualty Actuarial Society and the Society of Actuaries.

The intellectual development afforded by an undergraduate degree in mathematics provides an excellent background for a wide variety of careers and research. By the same token, since mathematics is extremely broad and the career/research opportunities are correspondingly diverse, there is no "single plan" that will work for every student of mathematics in every year.
