BA (Hons) Business and Enterprise Development

Course Description

Business and Enterprise Development at Lincoln is an innovative degree aimed at students wanting to learn about business management and theory, while building up their own businesses in a supportive and professional environment. This course offers the opportunity to study business law, ethical and socially responsible entrepreneurship, the principles of business and operational management, e-business and marketing, and encourages students to put learning into practice within a structured programme of theoretical scholarship. Students’ business start-ups will be based at the University’s business incubation centre, Sparkhouse, which provides a creative and professional environment for students to work alongside like-minded individuals. Sparkhouse’s Business Incubation Team offers specialist services including a range of practical training and development opportunities to help support student businesses to grow and develop throughout their early years. Students join the Lincoln Business School with access to its business networks and academics who specialise in research into small businesses and sustainable entrepreneurship. There are opportunities to benefit from mentoring from members of the School’s advisory board and the city’s business community.

Career outcomes

Graduates may want to carry on running the businesses they start while on the course or create new businesses. Others may use their entrepreneurial and business management skills as business development managers within companies in the private, public and third sectors.
