Course Description

About the Bachelor of Arts (Music) program Music (BA) students cultivate the areas of music that interest them most - performance, history and theory. Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (Music) degree may choose from one of two streams: Theory/History and General. The Theory/History Stream allows students to understand composition and delve deeper into the development of music. The General Stream focuses more on the performance and composition aspects of musical development. A vital component of this is the music studio courses which are one-on-one sessions with a professor designed to hone and build students proficiency as musicians. Students also gain group performance credit by participating in ensembles that are selected according to their instrument. Ensemble performance opportunities include: • U of L Singers • Women’s Chorus • Opera Workshop • Vox Musica • U of L Wind Orchestra • U of L Jazz Ensemble • U of L Percussion Ensemble • Collaborative Piano/Guitar • Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra
