Course Description

BEng (Hons) Aerospace Systems Engineering with Optional Sandwich Placement/ Study Abroad BEng (Hons). Course length Full Time, 3 Years Sandwich, 4 Years . This is a professionally-accredited degree with a particular emphasis on avionics systems and flight control systems. It also provides the first step towards gaining chartered engineer status. Aerospace systems engineers need to be multidisciplined, with as much knowledge of avionics systems as aeronautical systems. They are particularly concerned with the overall performance of aircraft, specialising in design and integration of mechanical and avionics systems into aircraft. This course not only includes the traditional aeronautical disciplines but also includes avionics systems such as modern navigation equipment and cockpit instrumentation. Systems engineers also specialize in Logistics Engineering and Flight Control Systems.
