Accounting and Financial Information Systems (Extended), BA Hons

Course Description

If you have the ability but not the qualifications, an extended degree is the first step to graduation. This four-year programme is identical to the three-year BA Hons Accounting and Financial Information Systems degree, but includes a foundation year, and has a lower entry tariff. Degree structure This course begins with a foundation year that will give you a solid grounding from which to progress to degree-level study. You will gain a thorough introduction to business and an understanding of ethics, enterprise and leadership. You will learn to use accountancy software such as MS Excel, MS Access, Visual Studio and SAGE 50. You will be taught through lectures, seminars and tutorials, and in small groups using case studies, role play and student centred learning. You will also carry out a research project.

Career outcomes

Career development Our degrees have been developed with input from professional accountancy bodies and financial institutions. When you complete this degree with the relevant courses, you will be exempt from a number of exam papers leading to professional qualifications from ACCA, AIA, CIMA and CIPFA.
