Course Description

This course has been designed to provide a formative, but highly integrated first year of study. You will be introduced to the key functional areas of business including, marketing, human resource management and finance. Within the second year your course follows a specialised pathway in Human Resource Management. Our Business Management (Human Resource Management) degree will help you gain a solid understanding of the complexities involved in business and management and the key issues relating to sustainability in business. It will give you the opportunity to develop the necessary skills to become an effective manager. People are at the heart of all organisations, and people management is widely regarded as the route to business success. This pathway is designed for those looking to specialise in people management during their programme of study. As well as following the Business Management degree programme, you will develop your knowledge in the areas of recruitment and selection and international perspectives on human resource management, which will prepare you for a possible career as a consultant, resource officer, recruitment consultant, or management trainee. The course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Developmentā€™s (CIPD) new Intermediate level standards. By registering as a student member in your first year of study, completing certain modules and a portfolio of activities you can leave with CIPD Associate Professional Membership alongside your degree.
