Course Description

The School of Engineering also offers a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology. The programs in which the degree is offered are electronic and computer engineering technology, global manufacturing systems engineering technology, industrial engineering technology, and mechanical engineering technology. The engineering technologist is usually involved in the design, performance evaluation, service and sales of products, equipment, and manufacturing systems, or the management of these activities. The management of process operations and plant facilities are also important career paths. The engineering technology programs provide: (1) specialized technical courses that emphasize rational thinking and the application of engineering and scientific principles to the practical solution of technological problems; (2) courses in applied mathematics and science sufficient to support the technical courses and to prepare the student for future growth; and (3) education to prepare students to communicate intelligently and to take places in society as responsible, humane, complete professionals.
