Course Description

Be a Planner, Designer, Constructor and Operator of the Built Environment Serve your local community as a city , inspector or water facility operator Help direct national policy initiatives or ongoing research with a federal science agency Design buildings as a structural engineer or build them as a construction manager Protect public health and the environment with sustainable waste control designs Manage risks from natural disasters, accidents and other threats Ensure the safety of our bridges and roadways Other industries include: energy, law, education, communication and science journalism, manufacturing and processing, auto or aerospace Experience Engineering Hands-on, real-world experiences — from co-op and internship placements to ETHOS and study abroad Student organizations including student chapters of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Institute of Transportation Engineering (ITE) and Ohio Water Environment Association (OWEA). University Rivers Institute promotes and protects the Great Miami River watershed Summer Undergraduate Research Program pairs students interested in research careers with a faculty mentor for a paid research experience.
