Certificate in Accounting Fundamentals

Course Description

The graduate certificate in Accounting Fundamentals is designed primarily for individuals who want to strengthen their understanding of accounting or individuals seeking to fulfill some of the accounting requirements to sit for the CPA examination, but not wishing to earn a graduate business degree. The certificate courses may satisfy six elective credits in the M.B.A. program or twelve of the prerequisite credits in the M.S. in Accounting and Business Advisory Services program. REQUIREMENTS [12 credits] The certificate requires ACCT 504: Introduction to Accounting (or its equivalent) as a prerequisite for each course in the certificate program and the completion of the following courses: * ACCT 510 Intermediate Accounting I * ACCT 511 Intermediate Accounting II * ACCT 512 Auditing /Accounting Information Systems * ACCT 513 Intermediate Accounting III / Advanced Accounting
