After the first year the six courses are further studied in depth. During the last part of the bachelor's programme and in the master's programme you can choose your own subjects. You will receive a great deal of support in developing your specialization. The broad academic spectrum of Leiden University is at your service: Chinese Taoism or the religions of Africa can be learned just as easily as the transmittance of the Old or the New Testament, ethical questions, the social role of religion, interpretational questions from diverse social sectors or the archaeology of the ancient Near East.
