Business and Management - International Foundation Programmes

Course Description

The International Foundation Semester and International Foundation Year enable you, as an international student, to undertake a programme of study leading directly to a business management-related undergraduate degree at this University. In addition to developing your English language skills and understanding of British society and culture, the programmes will help you gain important study skills that will support your learning at degree level. You will also be given an introduction to core subject areas in business management, including business management and organisation, ICT and statistics for business, current issues in business and the financial environment. You will study through a mix of lectures, workshops, seminars and tutorials and will undertake a range of assessments modelled on those which you will encounter later in undergraduate courses.

Career outcomes

Careers & professional development The main objective is to prepare you for entry into higher education to study for a degree at the University. On successful completion of the International Foundation Semester or International Foundation Year you will be able to progress on to one of the following degrees at the University of Bolton: BA (Hons) Business Management (including the pathways in Marketing, Business Information Systems and Human Resource Management), BSc (Hons) International Tourism Management and BA (Hons) Accountancy. Additionally, if you start the International Foundation Semester in January or June, or the International Foundation Year in September, you will be able to progress on to our LLB (Hons) Law course.
