Administration Level 2 Return to work

Course Description

An administrator working at level 2 you will be carrying out routine duties such as: mail handling, making/receiving telephone calls, using office equipment, filing (paper based and electronic), dealing with visitors/reception work. Creating and keying in business documents such as letters, long manuscripts and minutes of meetings are one component of the administration diploma at level 2. Practical tasks include managing diaries, arranging travel, and helping with the organisation of meetings and events. Legislation to include data protection, health and safety and copyright are also covered. At level 2 you will aim to increase keying in speeds to 35/40 words per minute (wpm). The syllabus includes producing business letters, multi-page reports and manuscripts, memorandums, faxes, press releases, multi column tables and IT skills in spread sheets, databases, presentations and desk top publishing. Accuracy of text is very important and time is spent on developing proof reading skills and techniques. Attention to detail is crucial and time is given to improving spelling, grammar and punctuation in class sessions.
