This popular, well-established course continues to have an 'outstanding' success rate of well above the national benchmark, with an excellent record of student progression into Higher Education both locally and nationally. An access course is an intensive, fast-track route into HE for mature students. It makes stringent requirements on learners in terms of time, commitment and academic development. Mature learners often have responsibilities outside of their education such as work or children, which suggests that they have the maturity to cope with these demands. In offering places on access courses, we will take into account a number of factors, including: life experience, skill level and understanding of a chosen route into HE.

* Grade C in GCSE English Language OR Maths and at least a level 2 qualification in the other one PLUS recent successful science study at level 2. * A clear career aim with appropriate work or voluntary experience is an advantage.
