The Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Computing and Systems Development is a specialist programme of study that covers the key knowledge and practical skills required in the computing and IT sectors. This programme will provide you with a range of skills required in a technological and management context. The course is delivered through seminars and tutorials. Students will explore a wide range of subjects including programming, systems analysis, project and systems management, networking and e-business strategy. Assessment includes case studies, practical projects, essays, reports and presentations.

Graduates can progress to various roles in the computing and IT sectors in areas such as technical support, database systems maintenance and development, information systems design and management, IT manufacturing, e-business, systems analysis and design, software engineering and development. Graduates can also progress onto further study of the Higher National Diploma in Computing and Systems Development or a relevant Bachelor degree.
