Applied Dance

Course Description

The applied dance minor offers a basic introduction for teaching dance to a wide variety of populations. This minor consists of dance technique, pedagogy, history and dance in world cultures, in addition to specific course work related to the field of dance. Students will be prepared for a wide range of career choices upon graduation. There are no prerequisites to begin work in the applied dance minor program. Students pursuing a minor have the same performance opportunities as those seeking a major. Topics of Study dance in world cultures dance history jazz, ballet, tap and/or modern dance dance anatomy, kinesiology and injury prevention dance pedagogy technical theatre
