Rope access is a safe, efficient and cost effective way of accessing a work-site or attempting a rescue from a precarious situation. In its simplest form, it usually involves abseiling utilising techniques such as climbing and cableways (like a flying fox). Rope access is used in various situations where access is limited; the most public of these being window washing but it also includes maintenance on high-rise buildings, cell-phone towers, confined spaces, and even on natural sites such as rock outcrops. Qualifications such as welding, engineering, inspection, carpentry or glazing (just to name a few!) would be beneficial but not essential for a career on ropes.

Graduates will have the skills and knowledge to pursue a career in the height access industry in New Zealand or overseas. Employments options are varied including: * Urban (building maintenance etc...) * Oil Rigs * Telecommunications * Theatre and Movie rigging * Geotechnical ...and many more!
