Course Description

Competition for these employment openings is expected to remain high as many qualified people look for positions in this field. To stay competitive, administrative assistants must be able to adapt to changing methods and responsibilities. Administrative Assistants perform a variety of duties in support of managerial and professional employers. They are employed in offices throughout the public and private sectors. Administrative Assistants include those who work in medical and legal settings; there are some common duties shared across this field. They type correspondence, reports, create invoices and related material from handwritten copy or machine dictation using a computer. They are also responsible for information and records management. They distribute, store, and organize important documents so that it can be found easily. Additional duties may include handling invoices, payment, and assist the receivables department. This program gives the student the necessary skills to be competitive in this market. Eligible to join Association of Administrative Assistants and/or Association of Executive and Administrative Professionals.
